Žagarkalns offers canoe, kayak, rubber boat and river catamaran rental on the Gauja River near Cēsis in Gauja National Park, Latvia. Our boat rental service is suitable for beginners, families, groups and multi-day river adventures.
The Gauja River is one of the most popular canoeing destinations in Latvia. Therefore, our boats are selected to provide safe, comfortable and enjoyable trips on both calm and rocky river sections.
CANOE RENTAL ON THE GAUJA RIVER
Canoes are stable, lightweight and suitable for both short and multi-day trips on the Gauja River. They offer enough space for luggage and camping equipment, making them a popular choice for families, couples and outdoor travelers in Latvia.
One canoe is most comfortable for:
- 2 adults,
- or 2 adults with a child.

KAYAK RENTAL IN LATVIA
Kayaks are one of the most popular choices for active trips on the Gauja River. Žagarkalns offers comfortable double-seat kayaks that are suitable for both short and longer adventures in Gauja National Park.
Kayaks are faster and more dynamic than canoes, making them a great option for active paddlers. In addition, they are safe and easy to control, although basic paddling experience is recommended.
All kayaks are operated with double-sided paddles.

Large rubber boats are ideal for families and groups looking for a calm and relaxing trip on the Gauja River. The boats are stable, spacious and suitable for 5–8 adults.
These boats are especially popular for easy-going outdoor adventures, family trips and group recreation in Gauja National Park. In addition, the durable material makes them resistant to stones, branches and shallow river sections.

RIVER CATAMARAN RENTAL
River catamarans are ideal for families and small groups looking for a comfortable and stable outdoor adventure on the Gauja River.
Although catamarans are designed for six adults, there is additional space for 2–3 children who are not paddling. The minimum group size is 4 people.
Catamarans are safe and suitable for relaxing trips in Gauja National Park because each inflatable pontoon consists of several separate air chambers.
